Short Term Medical (STM) Coverage
What Are Short-Term Medical Plans?
Short-term health insurance provides temporary, limited coverage for unexpected medical events, typically lasting one to four months. These plans exclude pre-existing conditions and essential health benefits like preventive care or mental health services. They are ideal for gaps in coverage but lack consumer protections and subsidies offered by ACA-compliant plans.
Who Are They For?
Short-term health insurance plans are designed to provide temporary coverage and can be a viable solution for those who:
Are between jobs and waiting for new employer coverage to begin.
Missed the annual Open Enrollment Period for comprehensive coverage.
Missed the annual Open Enrollment Period for comprehensive coverage.
Are young adults transitioning off a parent's health plan.
Are generally healthy and seeking lower-cost, temporary coverage.
How do I get a Short-Term Medical (STM) Plan?
You can call us or fill out our "Get a Quote" form below. We will show you the STM plans, their benefits and their rates in your area. These plans are not available through the Health Insurance Marketplace and do not conform to Affordable Care Act (ACA) guidelines. These plans will ask you and your doctor(s) medical questions. This is called "underwriting" to determine what level of risk you represent to their company. These plans can vary greatly in cost and coverage.
Why Get a Short-Term Medical Plan?
Short-term health insurance may not be ideal for the long term. However, there are situations in which you may need temporary coverage, and a short-term health plan may provide it:
⚠️ Important Considerations

Medical Underwriting
Applicants may be denied coverage based on health history.
No ACA Protections
These plans are not required to meet ACA standards and do not offer the same consumer protections.
